A Date with a Book

I love reading and you will always catch me with a book. While I love all mysteries and romances, I am particularly stuck on Cozy Mysteries.

Empty Net (Assassins, #3) - Toni Aleo I chose to read this book as I love a great romance. Adding sports to the plot seems to make romance novels refreshing. This is the third book of a series, and after reading this one, I would definitely read books one and two. I did enjoy the author's writing. The novels starts out with a one night stand, but little does Audrey know that she is hooked to this one night man in many ways. Once the story ties together the link, the book took off for me and was a page turner. However, I was turned off with the large amount of foul language used by all characters. I just didn’t think it was necessary.I did enjoy the romance between Tate and Audrey. It was an enjoyable story and mostly believable. But hey, who doesn’t love to dream. The friends on both sides were amazing and a lot of fun. They added to the story and helped to provide more to the novel than just the romance.I did enjoy the cupcake aspect. Kind of fun, except, I really wanted a red velvet cupcake. Too yummy!! Audrey makes several other kinds of cupcakes too. I kept looking for the recipes to appear in the book like they do with cozy mystery food themed books. Oh well, I’ll have to see what I can find on the internet.I did really enjoy the book and would recommend it to any romance reader. Definitely a good story.
