A Date with a Book

I love reading and you will always catch me with a book. While I love all mysteries and romances, I am particularly stuck on Cozy Mysteries.

The Sandcastle Girls

The Sandcastle Girls - I received this book from the publisher via Netgalley. I chose this book because I like historical fiction and I’ve heard great things about this author. Well, I didn’t love this book. I liked the story about Elizabeth and her dad going to Syria, their volunteering experiences, and the friends they met. However, I had a hard time following each and everyone’s story, about the present and about the past. It was a tough read for me and so I was unable to keep engaged and interested. At times I found myself excited with the details, but then would get lost in the new story and not sure how it fit in with what I had just read. I’ve not given up on this author and will try another one of his books at a later date. What to Read Next?Other historical fiction I’ve loved: The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
