A Date with a Book

I love reading and you will always catch me with a book. While I love all mysteries and romances, I am particularly stuck on Cozy Mysteries.

Crimson Groves - Ashley Robertson I struggled rating this book. So first I will say that when you start reading this book, give it at least 100 pages before you decide if you’re going to continue. It took me about that long to really get hooked. There is a lot of set up, and rightly so, and very well done, it’s just slow. Once the story gets off and going, it is a very quick read. Lots of action and interesting things going on and it doesn’t stop.At first I thought it was very similar to Twilight and that it would be very similar to other stories I had previously read in this genre. Not so. Even though this has your night creatures everyone is familiar with, this story has new ideas and twists that will keep you wanting to know more. The love story is amazing as well as the relationships that are discovered and developed.I really liked the relationships that Abby developed with both Tyler and Lily. How she was able to keep them safe, but still keeping them in her life was amazing. Abby is strong and very tough in dealing with everything going on in her life. An excellent main character. What a great story! I would have to give 3 stars to the first 100 pages just because it was slow, but definitely 5 stars to the rest of the book. Of course, like I said earlier, the action doesn’t stop with book one. We have to wait for book 2!!A Date with a Book Complete Review
