A Date with a Book

I love reading and you will always catch me with a book. While I love all mysteries and romances, I am particularly stuck on Cozy Mysteries.

The Hour of Predators - Lane Stark Review originally posted at A Date with a Book. This was an excellent mystery book. I chose to read this book at a time when I wanted more mysteries to review, and not just cozy mysteries. In the beginning of the book, there were a lot of characters to try and remember. However, as I kept reading, it all came together. So while this wasn’t a quick page turner due to ease of reading, as it did require a lot of attention and thought, I did want to turn the pages quickly to learn what and why things had happened. The Nuxalk was an Indian tribe I had never heard of before and a lot of the information used in the story was very interesting. The author has obviously done his research to effectively use the details in the story. I also enjoyed the personal story told alongside the crime story. Marcus Chao was a great investigator and romantic. All of the characters were greatly developed and how they wove between one another. The links kept appearing on each page, not only with the crime, but with the relationships.I would highly recommend this book to all readers of mystery, especially if you like a mystery that involves a lot of thought.
